Name: Amie
about to be 30 in 9 days
Fandoms you follow/love:
Heroes (Milo and Zach have taken over my LJ i really post way too much about them), Bones, POTC, music. If you go to my profile you'll see ALL my fandoms. :)
My life use to be exciting and non-stop. Exhausting. And I loved it. But 2007 has been anything but that. It's been, well, non-existent. I've had a miserable year and with that I have done one of two things. Ignore LJ all together or use it to distract me... Yes I have a few Emo posts, and like you I can't stand reading emo posts. So I never get mad about those who ignore my emo posts. But more than often I use my LJ as Fandom central lol. Whatever actor, singer, band, tv show is my obsession of the moment that is what I post about.  I'm one who loves to use her fandoms to escape the ugliness of everyday reality. And I love to interact with those who enjoy the same fandoms.

Star Wars and/or Hitchhikers Guide, anyone? [May. 26th, 2006|03:47 pm]

I'm a big Star Wars fan--books, all 6 movies, comics, art, music, etc. I'm currently really into the Clone Wars era and the years immediately preceding it, but I've read a lot of during and post-trilogy books and enjoy a those characters/storylines as well. I'm not really into playing the video games but I know most of the storylines well.

Also, just finished reading Douglas Adams' Hitchhiker's Guide series and I'm quite taken with it. New to this particular fandom, but I can tell it's here to stay.

I'd love to make some friends who are into these fandoms, not simply "fangirls/boys" but people who are into the actual stories and conflicts and stuff too. ((sometimes one can't help but coo over a character, but you know what I mean))

Oh, almost forgot:

name: Jessica
age: 20
bio: I'm currently living with my family in Boston, where I attend UMass Boston. Aiming for a philosophy degree, we'll see if that ever happens. I love reading and writing and drawing. Kind of eccentric sometimes, and I tend to keep to myself, but I'm friendly and essentially harmless.

Figured I'd give this community a shot. Personally I'd love to find one for adding Star Wars fans but as far as I know there isn't one...

Name: Danielle, or Danny. Not D-a-n-n-i-e or D-a-n-n-i or some crap like that. Danny.
Age: Twenty and...not loving it so far (just recently turned twenty)
Fandoms you follow/love: This is going to be long, so be prepared.
Star Wars
Indiana Jones
Merlin (the Sam Neil movie)
The Princess Bride
Harry Potter
Disney movies (pretty much all of them except for the few I didn't see/care for)
Moulin Rouge
Phantom of the Opera (so far only the movie but that could change once I see the play)
Wicked (have only seen the play. Started to read the book.)
Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants
Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe
The Mummy

...I think that's pretty much it for movies. Any others you can find in my interests

As for books, I have a small list.

The first Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants book (that's the only one I've read so far but I'm loving the second)
The Sevenwaters Trilogy- Daughter of the Forest, Son of the Shadows, Child of the Prophecy
A Child Called It (SAD book!)
To Kill a Mockingbird
Catcher in the Rye- I didn't actually read this book. My junior year (high school) English teacher read it to us, and he did it because he had the awesome Italian tone/voice for it, and did different voices for the characters. I loved it.

Writing, role playing, making web pages, attempting to make icons

Links to look at:

I'm going to spam this post with some links, because I'm desperate for members in one of the communities, so please bare with me.

creativefantasy- this is for any writers out there, mainly of the fantasy genre. It's a community to find beta readers or offer to be a beta reader. Since we're just above 100 members we're going to be celebrating by having a contest and by opening the community up (you have to apply) for about a month to see if we can get more members.

icons_in_flight- this is the community that's desperate for members. It's an icon challenge community for sci-fi/fantasy movies. We haven't started any challenges yet because we need more members, so please join if you're into making icons/graphics. It's for icon makers of all kinds, from beginners to advanced makers. _mysticdreamer is my icon LJ which is the account I used to make the community if you want to check out my icons.

I guess that's about it. o.o

If you are looking for another venue to share your works and find the best collection of fandom on livejournal, please stop on by _fanfics_.

The Fanfiction Archives is a multi fandom fiction and art community, where members gather together, share their works and critique the works of their fellows! Things never get too dull - there is always a community wide challenge, member highlight or contest open to members! In fact, if you join soon you will still have time to partake in the Innocent Bystander Challenge, open for submissions through Thursday February 23 (details and such can be found on the community's main page, challenge open to all members).

_fanfics_ hopes to someday boast the largest archive of fanfiction and fanart on livejournal - already we have 400+ amazing works only a mouseclick away.

Please feel free to check in if you have a spare moment, join if you like the look of things, and fill out the "Newbie Survey" to introduce yourself!

We look forward to seeing some of you there!
